I've been in software for over twenty years. Every few years there's been a wave of some new toolchain, another layer of abstraction that gave us more raw capability at the cost of a bit more abstraction. At first LLM coding agents looked like another round of the same cycle.

It's not.

This is qualitatively different. Hinge-point of the species different.

We're about to see the end of many things. The beginning of others.
And I suppose I just needed a place to think out loud out it all.
